In 2017, the City of Deer Park hosted various special activities and events throughout the year to commemorate its 125^th birthday. It was a time to educate and foster an appreciation for the history of Deer Park. Descendants of Simeon West - Deer Park's founder - came to several events in July that were planned in their honor. The celebration also included a special concert featuring country music star RaeLynn and a musical, An Evening with Simeon West. In addition, special benches, a granite marker, and a historical quilt were made to pay tribute to the founder of our great city!
