[ARCHIVED] TxDOT to close State Highway 225, Independence Parkway overpass for repairs

Road closure - SH 225/Independence Parkway

Community drivers are advised that the Texas Department of
Transportation will be completing a major construction project beginningFriday, November 30 at 9PM which will require closures on State Highway 225 and
Independence Parkway. The construction will continue until 5AM on Monday,December 3.

According to TxDOT Public Information Officer Deidrea
George, all lanes of State Highway 225 will be closed from East Boulevard toMiller Cut Off Road. All traffic will be diverted to the feeder roads on either
side of the highway. 

During the closure, repairs will be performed onIndependence Parkway. As such, the Independence Parkway overpass will be closed
between the traffic signals on the north and south sides. The feeder roads willremain open in both directions, and should be used to clear this construction
area before re-entering SH 225.  

“While we work on the Independence Parkway overpass, we areclosing all lanes of State Highway 225 passing beneath that roadway for all
drivers’ safety,” George said.
