Take a look back at the history, and people, who brought Galveston's Bathing Beauty contest to life. From notable contestants from its early days in the 1920s to firsthand accounts of people who grew up watching it on Seawall Boulevard, this presentation will highlight the color, diversity, and history of one of Galveston Island's most famous events. Join Will Wright on September 14 for a walk through the history of Galveston’s Bathing Beauty pageant. Will Wright is the Chief Creative Officer for Galveston Historical Foundation and the co-founder of the Galveston Island Beach Revue. His presentation will begin at 11 AM in the library’s meeting room.
This presentation is the latest installment in the library’s Featured Friday series. These monthly programs offer a variety of lectures, movies and special programs of cultural, historical and local interest.
