[ARCHIVED] Industrial Intelligence Series - Craft Careers

Industrial Intelligence Series - Craft Careers

Deer Park Public Library is excited to announce our new free program, the Industrial Intelligence Series.  In the coming months, we will be collaborating with experts to inform patrons on subjects relevant to industrial work. The first presentation in the series, Craft Careers, will begin at 7 PM on Tuesday, January 30 in the library’s meeting room.

Carla Thompson, a Workforce Development Coordinator for the Western Region - Turner Industries Group, LLC, will speak on craft careers, training, and preparing for NCCER certification. Ms. Thompson developed her administrative skill set through experience as a Workforce Development Manager, Craft Training Manager, Office Manager and Educational Specialist. Experience includes Power, Nuclear, Industrial Maintenance and Industrial Construction.  In 2009 she earned credentials as a NCCER Master Trainer and NCCER Administrator.

This presentation is the first installment in the library’s Industrial Intelligence series. These monthly programs offer assistance to patron’s seeking to work in industrial fields. No registration is required.

This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. (2018).

The library is located at 3009 Center St., Deer Park, TX 77536. The telephone number is 281-478-7208.
