Did you know that you can visit a piece of Deer Park’s past within the City limits? The Lawther-Deer Park Prairie Preserve is located right in the middle on Deer Park. On November 17, 2017, Lan Shen, a board member of the Native Prairies Association of Texas, Houston Chapter, will speak at the library on the past and present of the Deer Park prairie. Ms. Chen is also a member of the Texas Master Naturalist, Gulf Coast Chapter and the Native Plant Society of Texas - Houston and works part time for the Katy Prairie Conservancy.
