[ARCHIVED] Contractor Registration

Deer Park citizens – as you begin to plan repair efforts following Harvey, please be advised that – per City ordinance – any contractor doing paid work at a home, business or other establishment must have a current registration on file with the Deer Park Police Department. As well, all work will require permitting and inspection through the City's Public Works Department.

This rule will also apply to contractors who are already registered with the City of Deer Park Building Department.

Contractors may begin registering with DPPD tomorrow at 9AM at 2911 Center Street.

According to Chief Greg Grigg, contractor registration – which was also required after Hurricane Ike – can be completed at the Deer Park Police Department during normal business hours.

Contractor registration must be made in writing to the Records Division of DPPD on a specified form. Contractors must provide  the name and address of the business with a contact person, driver's license number and an office and cell phone number. The registration will also specify the names and dates of birth of any drivers and/or workers along with all vehicles and subsequent license plate numbers.

Once submitted, the contractor shall be required to display proof of registration upon request by the Police Chief or his respective designees.

Any person who fails to comply with any provision of this division shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine in an amount not to exceed $500.
