[ARCHIVED] Featured Friday Program: Native Americans in Texas on June 23rd @ Deer Park Public Library

Dr. Lopez will focus the presentation on Native American societies in Texas from early Spanish colonization through the 20th century. These include a variety of peoples and cultures from the Kiowas, Comanches and Apaches in the panhandle, the Tiguas, Mescalero and Kickapoos in West and Southwest Texas, and the Wichitas, Caddos, Atakpans and Karankawas in Central and Southeast Texas.

This presentation is the latest installment in the library’s Featured Friday series. These monthly programs offer a variety of lectures, movies and special programs of cultural, historical and local interest.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Deer Park Public Library. No registration is required and all are welcome to attend. There is no admission fee. The program will begin at 11 AM in the library’s meeting room. The library is located at 3009 Center St., Deer Park, TX 77536.
