If you are interested in becoming a member of the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter or member of the EMS group, now is the time to take action!
Applications are currently being accepted for the March 2017 Fire and EMS academy, and those who are willing to serve and meet the required qualifications are encouraged to sign up.
“I would encourage anyone who has ever been interested in serving this community as a firefighter or as an Emergency Medical Provider to apply for our March academy as soon as possible,” said Phillip Arroyo, DPVFD Assistant Fire Chief. “Your time is a precious commodity, and serving as part of the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department is a great way to give back to your community.”
Those interested in becoming a firefighter must be between 21 and 55 years of age; pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, a physical agility test and a criminal background check; and complete academy training.
To be considered as a potential member of the EMS group, applicants must be between 19 and 55 years of age; pass a DOT physical, a physical agility test and a criminal background check; maintain a current Texas EMS certification and complete academy training.
