The City of Deer Park’s National Night Out event will be held tomorrow, October 11, and the Deer Park Police Department is encouraging all neighborhoods, families and community organizations to take part!
According to DPPD Chief Greg Grigg, National Night Out – a nationwide crime and drug prevention event - is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs and strengthen police-community partnerships.
Beginning at approximately 6 p.m., residents in neighborhoods throughout Deer Park are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.
“National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build a safer nation,” Grigg said. “We look forward to this event as it gives us the chance to interact one-on-one with our residents and our youth, and we hope to see as many of our citizens participate as possible.
“We want to especially thank the 25-30 groups who have organized a party or gathering around the City, and we look forward to stopping by with members of the Police Department, Fire and EMS personnel, and City Council members.”
