The Pasadena Rodeo was formed in 1949 in part to preserve the area’s ranching heritage. What accounts for the cowboy image of Pasadena? Jeffrey Hallinan conducted extensive research on the subject, reviewing historic meeting minutes and by-laws and travelling hundreds of miles to conduct interviews. He found that research into the annual rodeo is vital to understanding the community in the Pasadena area.
