[ARCHIVED] San Jacinto College Professor to Discuss Ebenezer Scrooge

Don’t be a humbug, come to the library! On Friday, December 11, 2015, the Deer Park Public Library will host Dr. Ann Pearson’s presentation on Charles Dickens’ famous ghost story A Christmas Carol and the character Ebenezer Scrooge. The program will begin at 11 AM in the library’s meeting room.
A Christmas Carol is one of the most enduring stories set during the Christmas season. It has been adapted numerous times into movies, musicals, operas, stage plays and illustrated editions. Dr. Pearson currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at San Jacinto College. She has taught college English for over 25 years.
This presentation is the latest installment in the library’s new adult programming initiative. This monthly series offers a variety of lectures, movies and special programs of cultural, historical and local interest.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Deer Park Public Library. No registration is required and all are welcome to attend. There is no admission fee. The library is located at 3009 Center St., Deer Park, TX 77536.
