Residents of Deer Park are advised that beginning Thursday, October 1, the Deer Park Police Department will begin stopping drivers seen operating cell phones or other electronic devices while driving and issuing them warnings for violating the recently-adopted ordinance prohibiting such use. After a one-month period, the department will begin issuing citations with associated fines of no less than $1 and no more than $200.
