The accreditation program is administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) and requires the Department comply with professional standards in four general areas:

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments regarding the agency’s compliance with CALEA standards. There will be two opportunities to do so on Monday, July 20, 2015:
1) CALEA assessors will be taking comments by phone between the hours of 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and can be reached at 281-930-2161. Calls are limited to 10 minutes and must pertain to the agency’s compliance with the standards;
2) A public information session will be held at the Deer Park Municipal Court and Theatre Building, 1302 Center Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. The session will continue until all of those wishing to address the Assessment Team have had an opportunity to do so.

Anyone wishing to submit written comments regarding the Deer Park Police Department’s ability to comply with CALEA standards may do so by mailing them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia, 20155.
