**Please do not use E. Thirteenth or E. X Street to cut through to or from “Old Underwood”**
The City of Deer Park and the Deer Park Police Department is calling on all businesses to take a moment to think about their proximity to major thoroughfares, i.e. Highway 225, Beltway 8, Independence Parkway/Underwood Road and Spencer Highway so they can advise tractor truck couriers and delivery trucks doing business with them to take the appropriate and legal route to and from their businesses.
The Deer Park/LaPorte area has seen quite a bit of growth in economic activity in and around it in the last several years. Unfortunately, with the benefits of this growth have come some of the growing pains, especially in the category of truck traffic and damage to our streets. In recent years, the City of Deer Park has spent over $200,000 on street repairs, caused by tractor truck traffic, much of which is related to tractor trucks cutting through streets not weight rated for their type of commercial vehicle.
