Birds are nearby are nearby most everywhere you go - in our yards, in the middle of a city, and even in parking lots. In fact, Jennifer Bristol says those are good places to find a variety regardless of your level of birding expertise.
Bristol will speak as part of Deer Park Public Library's Featured Friday series on May 21 at 11 a.m. to help us recognize birds we are likely to see in frequently traveled areas and to suggest other local places in which a novice observer can see or hear many kinds of birds.
In addition to her birding expertise, Bristol is a former park ranger and former director of Texas Children in Nature program of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. She has contributed articles to Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine and other publications and has served on the advisory boards for the Texas Wildlife Association and Travis Audubon.
Whether your bird-watching interests range from a possible new hobby or just a casual desire to recognize some of nature's sights and sounds around you that have been overlooked, join us on May 21 to get started.
