Your chance to help save lives with a blood donation is coming up on Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. when Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be at the Deer Park Public Library.
The Blood Center needs 1,000 donations every day to serve patients in the area. To donate, sign up at https://www.commitforlife.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/333059 or call the library at 281-478-7208. All donors receive a free t-shirt.
If you have had Covid-19 in the past and have recovered (with no symptoms for 14 days and test results), you can donate blood to create convalescent plasma to help treat patients currently fighting the disease.
You can also have a free COVID-19 antibody test. This test is authorized by the FDA only for detecting the presence of antibodies against COVID, and does not test for the presence of the virus.
Deer Park Public Library is located at 3009 Center Street. Appointments are preferred please. To make an appointment, please visit www.commitforlife.org and click on "Schedule to Donate." Search by "Sponsor Code Search" with code DPPL.
