Resident update: Tropical Storm Laura and Tropical Storm Marco

Per information released by the National Weather Service Monday morning, Tropical Storm Laura is forecast to be a Category 2 hurricane and has shifted west since Sunday night. Landfall is anticipated for late Wednesday and at this time is likely to impact the upper Texas/southwest Louisiana coast. However, the storm has the potential to shift, increasing likelihood for impact to southeast Texas.

Tropical Storm Laura has potential to bring heavy rains (between four to eight inches or more), flooding, damaging winds and storm surge to impacted areas.

At this time, Tropical Storm Marco is expected to make landfall on the Louisiana coast on Tuesday night with minimal impact to Texas.
