On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed the Lunar Module Eagle on the Moon.  Armstrong was the first person to step on the surface followed by Aldrin.  One of their jobs was to plant the United States Flag on the lunar surface.  Have you ever thought about how the flag was constructed?

Lawrence Hayman worked in the Johnson Space Center Model Shop building equipment used on the Gemini and Apollo missions.  Mr. Hayman will discuss his work in the model shop at his presentation on Friday, July 12 at 11 AM in the Library’s meeting room.

This presentation is the latest installment in the library’s Featured Friday series. These monthly programs offer a variety of lectures, movies and special programs of cultural, historical and local interest.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Deer Park Public Library. No registration is required and all are welcome to attend. There is no admission fee. The library is located at 3009 Center St., Deer Park, TX 77536.
