Does the city keep a copy of my house plans?
If your home was constructed before 2010 the city will not have a copy of your house plans. Do to our records retention we would have only kept the copies for a few years then destroyed them. It now our policy to make the building permits a permanent record which means the building permit and house plans will not be destroyed but will instead be kept for historical record. If your home was constructed before 2010 you could check with your local title company, it is possible they have records of your home.
