The Deer Park Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to invite the entire community to this year’s Pumpkin Town Drive Thru Event, October 31st from 2 pm - 5 pm at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center. Dress up your cars, kids and pooches for a “Halloween drive-thru treat,” as Recreation Supervisor Rene’ McBride would say.
“You can stay in your car and drive-thru to each decorated station where you can get a treat for each child.” McBride said, “Your canine companions will be receiving treats too! There is no charge to tour Pumpkin Town and while costumes are not required, we hope to see you dress for the occasion!”
The entrance to begin the tour will be on the west parking lot (dog park side). Here, the department will be having a drive-thru Halloween Car Decorating Contest and judges will be on hand to critique your work of art. If you are interested in the vehicle-decorating contest please fill out the form located at http://www.deerparktx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/8950/Pumpkin-Town-Vehicle-Decorating-Contest.
Once you exit the Pumpkin Town Drive-Thru, make a detour into the theatre parking lot. Drive-thru trick or treat with some of the local businesses, all while staying in the comfort of your car!
“We would like to invite the community to celebrate Halloween with us,” said Charlie Sandberg, Parks and Recreation Director. “We are working hard to give our community a safe and enjoyable time during the pandemic.”
