  1. Toddler Storytime

    August 17, 10:15 AM - 10:45 AM @ Deer Park Public Library

    Toddler Storytime is presented on Thursdays at 10:15 AM. Recommended for children up to 3 1/2 years old. Stories and activities during the 20-30 minute session are designed to encourage a love for books and language, increase attention span and develop basic social skills. Parents/Caregivers are required to stay with the toddler and encourage them to participate in the program.

  2. Preschool Storytime

    August 17, 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Deer Park Public Library

    Preschool Storytime is recommended for children 3 1/2 - 6 years old. Children listen to stories, and participate in group activities. Storytime sessions take about 30-40 minutes.

  4. Microsoft PowerPoint Basics

    Become familiar with the 2016 version of PowerPoint and learn how to create a presentation using themes, illustrations, transitions and animation. PREREQUISITES: Basic computer skills (mouse & keyboard) and basic knowledge of personal computers. Familiarity with Microsoft Word is required. Space is limited so registration is required.   5. The Act You've Known for All These Years: Sgt. Pepper and the Genius of The Beatles

    Believe it or not, this year is the fiftieth anniversary of the release of the beloved Beatles album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. If your heart gives a thud at the thought of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, and whether or not you need a little help from your friends, join us for a program dedicated to the special genius of the Fab Four. Professor Steve Davis of Lone Star College will be presenting a lecture titled, “The Act You’ve Known for All These Years: Sgt. Pepper and the Genius of The Beatles.” The program will be held at 11 AM in the Deer Park Public Library’s meeting room. This presentation is the latest installment in the library’s Featured Friday series. These monthly programs offer a variety of lectures, movies and special programs of cultural, historical and local interest. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Deer Park Public Library. No registration is required and all are welcome to attend.

    Now that you've learned the basics of genealogy searching, what do you do with all of those great documents and photos that you've found in your search? Keeping up with all of that information and making sure that you can pass it down to others in your family can be overwhelming. This class will teach you how to care for, organize and share your genealogy research with your loved ones.
