The primary purpose of the Deer Park Honor Guard is to provide funeral honors for fallen officers. The Honor Guard may also serve as the "guardians of the colors." They present the nation’s colors for various ceremonies and state functions. Additionally, the Deer Park Honor Guard serves as ambassadors to the public, presenting a positive image of their service, and assisting with the recruiting effort.
Ceremonies / Special Events
The Deer Park Honor Guard has represented the City of Deer Park in numerous ceremonies throughout the city and state, including but not limited to:
- Presenting the colors at special events such as the State of the City Address for the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce and the inauguration of the new Deer Park Fire Department Station 3
- Posting of the colors for the Houston Astros-Minute Maid Park - Deer Park Night
- Sending representatives to the Austin State Capitol for the Texas Peace Officer Memorial and Candle Light Vigil
- Conducting an annual Deer Park Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony at the Deer Park Police Department
- Presenting the colors at Deer Park I.SD. Veterans Day functions
